| COTTAGE EXTENSION
, HORNINGHOLD, LEICESTERSHIRE. 2001/2 |
 |
Sept. 2002 – January 2003.
This is an example of a quality 2 storey extension to a turn of the century period
brick and slate cottage at Horninghold, Leicestershire.
The client’s brief was to extend this particular gable of the house to
significantly increase the size of the sitting room and the rear bedroom.
They required the appearance of the existing details of the gable to be faithfully
recreated in the new version.
The precise positions of the original string courses, detailed brick arches to
window heads and relieving arches were carefully measured and recorded before
the gable was dismantled, extended and successfully rebuilt as part of the new
extension.
